Comparison of joy

Been sitting here wondering if I should share some good news…

Then I started thinking – is it even worth posting achievements if it just makes someone scrolling feel worse about where they are?

Comparison really is the thief of joy.

I’ve had some wins lately, but seeing everyone else’s highlight reels sometimes makes me question the whole thing. Are we all just adding to this cycle where everyone feels like they’re falling behind?

That classmate landing the dream job, the friend raising funding for their startup – genuinely happy for them, but I can’t help wondering if my own updates would just be noise in someone else’s bad day.

Maybe the real question isn’t whether my achievements are worth sharing, but whether we’ve created this space where success feels like it has to come at the cost of someone else’s peace of mind.

I’m genuinely curious – when you’re having a rough week and see someone celebrating a big win, does it motivate you or just make you feel further behind?

Because if sharing good news only spreads comparison and sadness, maybe some victories are better kept quiet.

Not sure I have the answer, but the question keeps me up at night.
